Red Flags
Genre: Contemporary Thriller / Drama
Tone: Happy Valley meets Baby Reindeer — darkly gripping, fiercely female, and unflinchingly real.
Format: 6 × 45 Minutes - Limited Series
Setting: Northern England — a landscape of quiet streets, loud opinions, and digital warfare.
Synopsis:
When a misogynistic influencer unleashes a social-media pile-on against café worker Lou Copeland (38), a survivor with a chequered past, she refuses to play victim. Instead, Lou fights back — catfishing him, drugging him with her Nan’s sleeping pills, and accidentally triggering a national scandal.
As the story explodes online, Lou becomes public enemy and folk hero all at once. Hounded by death threats, exploited by officials, and hunted by a system protecting its own, she joins forces with her sharp-tongued Nan and outspoken Irish single mum Charlie to turn the tables. What begins as revenge morphs into revelation — a mission to expose the powerful networks enabling misogyny, abuse, and manipulation from behind polished screens.
The captured influencer, Andy Spade (45), may be a monster or a pawn in a darker game — a man weaponised by those who profit from chaos. Either way, Lou is trapped in his echo chamber, forced to decide whether she’s dismantling a predator or becoming one.
Red Flags is a tense, character-driven thriller about truth in the age of distortion — where every click can destroy a life, and the line between victim and villain blurs with every upload.
